"Living Room Blues and Faith" (Live Recording) by The Crazy Daysies
Rebecca and Jen perform a live rendition of their blues-inspired single about faith, family, and the personal search for truth
About “Living Room Blues and Faith”
Like most musicians in 2020, we suddenly found ourselves with an empty calendar. Since live music venues weren’t allowed to host concerts, we set one up in the Florida family living room at our parents’ house and invited a select few guests to come and enjoy the show.
Kicking things off for that acoustic set is “Living Room Blues and Faith,” a bluesy, rhythmic number that reminisces heavily on our southern roots and how those have carried on into our adulthood.
I find I’m most able to let my mind wander philosophically at night, when things are quiet and my to do list is done for that day.
That’s when I wrote this song. It was about 12AM on a week night, and like usual I was searching the quiet night for answers to spiritual inquiry and philosophical contemplation.
While the philosophical slant to “Living Room Blues” is apparent, it’s also a celebration of faith, which I have always preferred to explore and ponder personally, rather than in a group setting.
