What an inspiration you are! You have fought against the odds. Your analysis of platforms and gatekeepers is spot on. I was unaware of Adam Smith's contemptuous (and contemptible) opinions about music.

I feel myself to be in a similar situation, as a writer of free "content," but you've found a way to make a living out of it. I self-published a book on Amazon and sold about 130 copies. :-( I am working on another book, and this time I plan to promote it better, perhaps getting a "real" publisher. We'll see.

Have you thought of using Patreon on YouTube in addition to substack payments? Just an idea....

Thank you so much for reading and for your kind words! I look forward to your book, and if you go the traditional publisher route, I wish you the best of luck! I know it's a tough choice between self-publishing and going with a publishing house these days. I tend to stay away from Patreon. My mom wrote there for awhile and she just came over to Substack after we chatted because she felt her work was being buried over at the Patreon platform. Ever since they banned Jordan Peterson from their platform (I don't know if they ever allowed him back) I've stayed away from them. I don't agree with a lot of what Peterson says, but Patreon's silenced too many dissenting voices for me to ever trust them with my own work. Thank you again for reading!
